A series of American films tells about a family whose members call themselves “storm chasers”. The first picture was released in 1996, the main roles in it were played by Helen Hunt and William Paxton, and the director was Jan de Bont.
The couple is engaged in research on hurricanes. They manage to create a unique device that can transmit data to scientists, but to do this it must be placed inside a funnel. The disaster movie was twice nominated for Oscars in two categories: Best Sound and Best Visual Effects. The central character of the sequel to the acclaimed film “Twister” was the daughter of Joe and Bill, who continued the work of her parents. Twister (1996)
As a result of a storm, Joe’s father dies. The family tragedy pushed the girl to choose a profession. Jo devotes herself to the study of tornadoes, storms and hurricanes. She marries meteorologist Bill.
The couple is obsessed with the idea of learning the secrets of the origin of natural phenomena and finding a way to rid mankind of them. The spouses give themselves completely to work and create a unique device.
If in research activities they have a complete agreement, then in their personal lives everything is the opposite. Joe and Bill prepare divorce papers. There is a message about an impending hurricane, the storm hunters forget about their differences and set out to meet the raging elements.
Twisters (2024)
Joe and Bill’s daughter at first did not share her parents’ obsession with studying destructive natural phenomena. Finding herself in the epicenter of a tornado and miraculously surviving, the girl changes her views.
Kate, along with a buddy, immerses herself in storm research. They manage to create an innovative system for tracking hurricanes. When the elements rage, Javi offers Kate to test the invention. The buddies get acquainted with a noisy team of storm hunters, led by Tyler Owens.
The guys are waiting for amazing, danger-filled adventures. They travel across Oklahoma and fight the uncontrollable elements.
